There has been growing interest in value-based healthcare to provide high-quality care at lower costs. Value-based healthcare is a health care delivery model in which providers get paid based on patient outcomes and not individual services (Decker et al., 2016). Providers include hospitals and physicians that get paid for the patient outcomes. Value-based healthcare is patient-centric and improves outcomes and cost-efficiency. Listening and responding to the patient’s needs and not the administrators in health institutions is what these organizations need.
Increasingly, the advanced registered nurses must consider the cost of delivering the outcomes as one of the priorities to provide value in health care delivery.
