However, research by MedCircle (2019) identifies multiple similarities and differences between the use of cognitive behavioral therapy within the group compared to the family or individual setting. Some of the paramount factors or characteristics differentiating the CBT in groups compared to family and individual settings include the methodology, the mode of interaction, the goal, the learning theories or techniques, the phases and procedures of assessment, and the mode of gathering and validating information.
