Step #2: Read the Chapter Notes that I provided you in the PDF titled "Chapter Notes on Stress"
Step #3: Read Chapter 8 of the book called "Harvard Medical School Guide to Men's Health" by Harvey Simon.
Step #4: Below are three questions that I want you to answer. For each question below answer it with at least one paragraph response in your own words.
Statement from the Professor: "Stress contributes to roughly 80% of all the diagnosed diseases in the United States today, so learning how to cope with stress is extremely important to one's overall well-being and life expectancy. We will never be able to avoid stress, but being able to deal with it is a crucial aspect of our overall well-being."
Question #1): Describe the differences between positive stress and negative stress. Make sure to state the term that means positive stress and state the term that means negative stress and describe both of them
Question #2): Describe what you personally go through physically and emotionally whenever you ever get stressed out.
Question #3): Describe how have you learned to deal with or cope with that/those stressors" with which you may presently be dealing based on what you answered for question #2. Therefore, describe how do you handle or deal with a stressful situation.
*Important Note: Please do not include or talk about drugs, alcohol, or violence as your method of dealing with stress because those do not solve any problems as they just create worse problems.

The class materials reveal that stress is a commonplace phenomenon in a person’s life and can take two forms. One of these is positive stress, termed eustress, which significantly assists the body in reacting to emerging situations. Researchers refer to this type of stress as positive because its occurrence leads to increased confidence in a person or over-stimulation to overcome a certain challenge. As a result, it associates with good feelings like a sense of fulfillment, excitement, or satisfaction. According to Simon (2002), good stress assists individuals in mobilizing their physical and emotional resources leading to particular achievements. However, stress can also be negative, as represented by the term distress. This situation represents disruptive feelings akin to suffering. Bergquist reveals that the prolonged and severe nature of distress wears out the body in diverse ways leading to physical exhaustion with far-reaching and adverse internal impacts that expose an individual to myriad health ramifications (TED-Ed, 2015). One of the typical features of this negative stress is that individuals become overwhelmed by the challenges instead of gaining the motivation to overcome them. As a result, it persists, leading to negative consequences.
