In contemporary society, science is trusted as the main source of verifiable information. If data is collected and analyzed using the scientific method, it can be used to guide practice. Science has shown that sustainability is key if human life is to go on unperturbed in the future. On the other hand, humans and organizations/ businesses engage in numerous practices that threaten this sustainability (Scoones et al., 2020). This situation begs the question of the best thing to d when a community rejects non-legislative efforts to adopt sustainable practices. In such a situation, the best way to deal with the situation would be to force sustainable practices upon the community through laws or regulations.
