Include the following:
Provide an overview of the problem and the setting in which the problem or issue occurs.
Explain why a quality improvement initiative is needed in this area and the expected outcome.
Discuss how the results of previous research demonstrate support for the quality improvement initiative and its projected outcomes. Include a minimum of three peer-reviewed sources published within the last 5 years, not included in the Class Resources or textbook, that establish evidence in support of the quality improvement proposed.
Discuss steps necessary to implement the quality improvement initiative. Provide evidence and rationale to support your answer.
Explain how the quality improvement initiative will be evaluated to determine whether there was improvement.
Support your explanation by identifying the variables, hypothesis test, and statistical test that you would need to prove that the quality improvement initiative succeeded.

For instance, the adoption of information technology (IT) innovations in the healthcare sector has been an issue that has greatly derailed the quality of healthcare through making the healthcare sector to be left behind when other sectors are enjoying the innovations. The technological transformation era has greatly impacted the healthcare industry with a great focus on the diagnosis, service delivery and public health management. However, the healthcare sector has slowly adopted the information technology innovations, which creates a healthcare quality issue. Evidently, compliance demands such as the need to adhere to the Human Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) have delayed the adoption of the innovations (Dieli, 2022). However, engaging in an in-depth research on the need for the IT transformations in healthcare helps in reviewing the various scholar’s research results on how important it is to ensure that fast adoption of IT innovations will help in enhancing healthcare quality improvement. Therefore, adopting a quality improvement proposal on the slow adoption of IT innovations in healthcare will help in convincing the healthcare stakeholders to be committed and dedicated in ensuring that they improve the quality of diagnosis, service delivery and public health management using technology transformations.
Overview and Setting of the Problem
Slow development and implementation of IT innovations in the healthcare sector has been a major barrier towards revolutionizing the healthcare provision processes. In fact, healthcare stakeholders have been reluctant to embrace the innovations with a view to remain under the already adopted systems. An environment of reluctance to technology in the healthcare sector as well as fear of messing the healthcare provision aspects when adopting a new innovation have created more damage to the quality of healthcare than improvements. In fact, hospitals have been very ignorant and reluctant on the revolution that technology offers. The government has also not adequately funded the healthcare innovations mainly due to less information on how information technology helps in creating an outstanding and high quality healthcare sector. In the US since 2008 to 2021, the country had not yet achieved a hundred percent adoption of healthcare technology. According to the Health IT website (2023) the US healthcare facilities had only implemented certified electronic health records (EHR) systems at a rate of seventy-eight percent. The slow adoption of the technology has been a major weakness in ensuring that even healthcare disparities in the country are effectively addressed.
