Depression is a major issue in contemporary society. Depression is a critical condition and a medical illness that affects how one feels and thinks (Lotfaliany et al., 2018). It also makes an individual lose interest in different activities and other social engagement. Depression is a common issue among adults to financial requirements and life exposure. The paper reflects on an interview conducted with a patient who suffers from depression.
Description of the Interview
The interview I conducted was effective since it allowed me to collect adequate data necessary for understanding the condition of a patient who suffered from depression. I interviewed Johnson Smith, a 35-year-old teacher who lost his job due to intensive alcoholism. A face-to-face interview was also important since it allowed me to capture real-time data needed for the future transformation of healthcare and enhanced health among the depressed. A face-to-face interview was also a significant style since it allowed me to conduct accurate screening. For instance, it was difficult for the patient to provide false information such as gender or race. Lastly, face-to-face interviews allowed me to capture behaviors and emotions which are significant in determining the level of depression. Therefore, the interview was s...
