This study is essential to nursing because it suggests approaches hospitals and caregivers can adopt to optimize teamwork and promote coordinated care. Nurses should develop a sense of belonging and mental safety. Furthermore, caregivers working in a team should ensure accountability by defining everyone's duty. Nurses should be able to explain and educate patients and their families about an ailment. Lastly, institutions should foster communication, reinforce caregivers with tools for collecting data and promote systems that encourage sharing expertise and information across teams.

All the above factors promote quality care for patients because caregivers closely monitor them.
