The caregiver plays a vital role in innovation, as individuals rely on empathy to understand patient needs and improve relationships with clients/ patients (Malloch & Porter-O'Grady, 2009). In healthcare, improved patient engagement has facilitated human-centred experience and led to better patient experience. Insistence on patient-centered healthcare provision has also resulted to better patient monitoring, and I have found that patients are more informed when there is patient engagement and this spurs innovation in the workplace.
