Breast cancer screening is one of the clinical preventative interventions to detect and prevent complications from breast cancer. Early diagnosis is essential to improving health and wellness (Occa & Suggs, 2016). Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer affecting women. While it is not currently to prevent the disease from appearing, cancer detection in the early stages before the symptoms appear makes it easier to treat the disease and increases the chances of survival. The most effective way to detect breast cancer early is to perform regular mammograms in women as they get older when symptoms have yet appeared. Programs targeting patient education on checking for signs of breast cancer and mammograms have effectively increased awareness to treat early-stage cancer.
