I appreciate your line of questioning and for sure I will incorporate artificial intelligence and clinical decision support system (CDSS) in my professional practice. In reality, good decision-making in caregiving is challenging, particularly due to the massive data available offline and online (Bleher & Braun, 2022). In the scenario at hand, where the CDSS system might recommend using statin for a specific patient who is not interested to use this type of medicine due to the adverse side effects associated with them, I will not be first to decide. Instead, I would allow the patient to speak as I listen carefully. For sure, it is always good to understand the primary concerns raised by the patient, which might hinder the recommended treatment. The treatment or medications chosen should have fewer side effects and most importantly must eliminate the health problem.
