Florence Nightingale was an advocate for holistic nursing care through the use of appropriate methods to assist people in need. Specifically, Nightingale was more concerned about the healing process, which involved the body, mind, and spirit to achieve a balance (Gilbert, 2020). Therefore, the spiritual dimension is considered just as essential as the physical one, hence the need to concentrate on both aspects. Apart from that, the environment was further seen to have a huge influence on the healing process of patients by considering the context of the individual benefits of various elements, including light, air, and water, among others (Karoliussen & Hov, 2020).
