Assessment tool or diagnostic test
The fecal occult blood test (FOBT) is a non-invasive screening test to determine the presence of non-visible blood in the stool to detect colon polyps or lesions in the colon that could cause a malignant tumor (Singal, 2018).
Purpose
 The FOBT screens blood in the stool that cannot be seen by eyes from a stool sample and complements the colorectal cancer test. There may be some type of bleeding in the digestive tract caused by different factors such as ulcers, polyps, and hemorrhoids.
