Toddler Best Practices for Language Development
Infant and Toddler 45 Hour Final Project
The final project will demonstrate your understanding of how to support infants and toddlers in an environment that is supportive of their needs and focused on growth and development through best practices. Be sure to use the template provided to ensure all required components are submitted.
Select an age group: Infant (0-12 months), Toddler (12-24 months), or Two Year Old (24-36 months)
Select a theme that is of interest to the age group selected, as well as developmentally appropriate.
Choose three books that are appropriate for the age selected and support the selected theme.
Create a daily schedule for the selected age group that includes activity and transition times.
Create a weekly plan of activities, using the Weekly Activities Plan that is supportive of the theme and selected age group. For your Goals/Outcomes, they should come directly from the Healthy Beginnings Guideline.
Select two activities in the Weekly Activity Plan and submit detailed lesson plans using the Activity Form.
Create a bulletin board or newsletter that supports the theme selected and provides information to parents about the theme, why you chose it, and the learning objectives. The bulletin board can be submitted as a photo file or the newsletter as a document.
