Part 1
Use the Basic Science Lesson Plan components topic/concept, objective, materials, advanced preparation, procedure, evaluation and extension ― to write a science lesson plan appropriate for use in an early childhood classroom. (You do not have to include the “Goal” component in your lesson plan.)
After creating the lesson plan, list at least two extension activities. Your extension activities should include activities that involve different multiple intelligences other than that addressed in the lesson plan activity. Do not use the same multiple intelligence for both activities. Put the name of the corresponding intelligences in parenthesis at the beginning of the activity so it is clear which of the multiple intelligences you are involving. Multiple intelligence are (1) linguistic, (2) logical-mathematical, (3) bodily-kinesthetic, (4) interpersonal, (5) intrapersonal, (6) musical, and (7) spatial.
A note about writing your objective:
Though the textbook suggests beginning your objective with, “The child should be able to…”, in the real world of teaching, your objective would have to be aligned with a state standard. Please find an appropriate state standard from your current state that your lesson plan will meet. Make sure to cite the source of your state standard in proper APA format.
If the concept you want to teach is that various objects feel different from one another, the state of Georgia standard you would be meeting would be:

How to do it
The first step will involve exploring the different shapes that will be used in the construction of the structures. I will examine the level of exposure of the learners to the different shapes. Secondly, I will require the students to name the shapes and identify ways in which engineers can use the shapes in construction. Thirdly, I will allow the learners to explore the shapes by constructing different structures. In particular, I will require the learners to experiment with different shapes to come up with different structures.
Evaluation
The evaluation will involve getting feedback from the students on different aspects of the lesson. I will ask the learners to state the areas where they enjoyed most. Here, students will identify interesting areas which made the lesson memorable. The second question will entail the challenges they encountered. Students will express the problems they faced in the lesson. I will require the learners to indicate how they solved the problems encountered. Lastly, I will ask the students to indicate something new they learned about structures. This will be critical in evaluating the progress that the learners have made in learning something new.
Extension
Discussion about designs: (5) Intrapersonal
I will have the students in small groups, where they will share their experiences in constructing structures using different shapes. Here, students will share the challenges they encountered and how they addressed the issues. The extension activity is meant to develop the intrapersonal skills of the learners.
