It might be an opportunity for the members involved to acquire critical thinking skills and improve their self-esteem and confidence levels (Seo & Han, 2013).

It might imply that despite parties discussing an issue, it is not assured they will cooperate. Instead, some may be expecting to take advantage of 'others' collaborative behavior (Seo & Han, 2013). 

The general education teacher and special education teacher voluntarily engaging in activities that seem to benefit the students.


Parity Among Participants



It is a collaboration element. 'Everyone's involvement in an interaction is appreciated equally, and each individual can decide equally in any collaborative activity (Hargreaves et al., 2021).

One person in the collaboration might have less power or less valuable information/knowledge, hence bringing less impact (Hargreaves et al., 2021).

Mutual Goals



It is beneficial because it enhances individual morale, boosts trust between different individuals involved in the specific collaboration (Kolleck et al., 2020).

When the trust aspect is lacking in the collaborating group, some persons might not feel comfortable sharing their thoughts within the group. Lacking trust can limit the willingness of others to discuss goals before deciding on common ones (Kolleck et al., 2020).
