Warped Self-Images: FSI Case

Coursework Instructions:

Discuss self-assessment. We might assess who we are by comparing ourselves to other people. Carolin Dahlman ‘s video on YouTube “ Unload your Baggage “ offers some ideas. Do you feel that cleaning out some of our old issues can help us make a clearer assessment of ourselves? Apply this concept to your work with our FSI family. Describe how you would work with one of the family members to clean out some of the old issues and make a clearer assessment of themself.• Reflection: Discuss how one can learn to accurately perceive their strengths and not just their weaknesses ( needs). Picking one of the FSI family members, describe three “ warped “ self images she might have. Discuss why it is necessary to “ throw away “ each of the “ warped “ self-images.

They stared in the face the possibility of living in the streets until FSI kicked in and saved them from their plight. The teenager must be laden with old issues such as losing their parents while still so young. They must also have felt hopeless and confused after being kicked out of their home. I would train them to overcome those overwhelming thoughts through a process known as de-fusion (McKay & Fanning, 2016). Perceiving Strengths
I would train the teenager to assess their strengths and weaknesses. One of the ways that I would recommend to use to conduct such an assessment is the self-concept inventory (McKay & Fanning, 2016). In this approach, I would ask them to list down as many words and phrases to describe themself. Some of the things I would encourage them...
