Coursework Instructions:

Please prepare a response post to:
How can an employee's use of social media positively or negatively affect their company, even if done on their own time and from their account(s)? Social Media, the pros and cons, it's great to share grandma's recipe with family and friends, The pictures from vacation in Vegas should not be put on social media. People want to connect daily happenings with social media, but they fail to realize what is ok to share and what should never be on the internet. Once it is out there, it is there for everyone to see and judge, and people will judge.
Employees of any company can bring positive publicity to the public/internet about the company by sharing how the company does charity drives for local community groups. And how the employees did a rebuild a park in a neighborhood. These company events bring positive publicity and make employees feel good about working for the company. Employees can also talk about how much they love to work for the company. The internet community can see all of this along with the company's HR departments and other employees; it is a positive for everyone, along with sharing grandma's recipe.
Working hours or non-working hour does not concern the internet. It is 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. And where it comes from again does not matter to the internet. Work computer during working hours or personal computer at home in your off time.
Employees can have a negative effect on the internet and make the company look bad as well as other employees of the company. Posting comments about people at the company or making comments about how miserable they are working there and any unpleasant things that an inside employee may know about the daily happening in a company. The internet community will perceive this as a negative and, in many cases, add additional comments possibly about their workplace.

However, I am also concerned with employees' ownership infringements when they post protected content or information. One may disclose another company's trademark without authorization or post confidential information about a joint venture (Sherer, McLellan & Yantis, 2019). Such concerns of ownership infringements do not lie o...
