Admittedly, waiting lines are rampant within organizations, companies and institutions at the entrance or service desks. People encounter delays and waiting in filling stations, hospitals, banks, or motor parks. A typical scenario I face daily is waiting in supermarket lines which can be exasperating, mainly during peak hours. The queuing problem occurs when supermarkets do not have enough cashiers to match customer demand or when technical issues like system failures arise. An extended delay with a long queue in front of counters tarnishes the business reputation and has prompted customers to opt to access services in alternative stores (Liang, 2019). To the company, loss of customers can be considerably costly, and there is a need to manage the lines to retain satisfaction.
