Understanding the importance of statistical analysis in real-world applications is important for anyone. It allows them to have a better understanding of how probability works and use it to make strategic decisions in his day-to-day life. In this article, the author has focused on using statistical analysis in a real-world business problem. Using data from the last thirty (30) online sales that he made, he sought to understand whether or not the different mediums of advertisement – eMail, Social Media, and Google Ads – were equally effective in improving conversion rates based on their frequencies of sales. Accordingly, it is the author’s belief (H0) that all of the different mediums were equally effective as a marketing medium based on the last 30 online sales made.
Data Collection and Analysis
In order to generate the data needed to conduct the analysis, the author has taken a record of the sources of the traffic that generated the last 30 sales transaction using Google Analytics. Specifically, the data taken is raw data collected by Google’s software, that shows that conversion rates in relation to the specific source of the online traffic. Accordingly, the following table (Table 1) shows the summary of data.
