BestGear has experienced rapid growth lately and will need to focus on attracting top-notch talent. To attract and retain high-quality employees, the company will need to continue to grow. The plan is to do so in the best cost-effective manner, and address the change management issues associated with putting any new large-scale system or process in place.
In addition, BestGear leadership suspects it is losing to its competitors due to the company's mismanagement of projects. The consequences of this are cost and time overruns associated with uncontrolled project growth, poorly defined project requirements, or requirements that don’t align with business goals. So far, BestGear’s customer loyalty has kept them in a strong position, but the company has already noticed that it’s begun losing long-term contracts.
You are an organizational design/project management consultant. Your assignment is to recommend both HR software/processes to help the company win the “War for Talent” and a new approach to project management, which may include new software, processes, or both. The goal of your project management recommendation is to help BestGear bring in high-quality projects that are appropriately scoped, align with stated business goals, and characterized by well-defined project requirements on time and on budget.
