The firm headquarters is in Cupertino, California, in the United States of America (USA). Tim Cook’s, Apple’s chief executive officer (CEO), effective leadership has enabled the company to make good strategic decisions that have helped it to maintain a significant market share in the technology industry. The primary reason why Apple Inc. has retained its competitive advantage in the international market for many years is due to the effective use of the differentiation strategy.
The differentiation strategy has worked very well for Apple Inc. and helped it to gain and retain a competitive advantage in the global technology market. Indeed, the company uses a differentiation strategy to come up with products that have unique design features and functionalities. Apple Inc.’s products stand out when compared with its competitors, such as Samsung, Microsoft, Lenovo, HP, Huawei, and Dell. Some of the products that Apple manufactures include iPads, iPhones, MacBooks, Apple TV, and Apple Watches (Aliekperov, 2018). Through differentiation, Apple Inc. develops user-friendly and elegantly designed electronic devices. For many years, Apple Inc. has remained highly competitive in the technology industry and generate more revenues. Apple Inc.’s gadgets have unique aesthetics and seamless connectivity. Moreover, the firm targets a broad market, including individuals and organizations.
Apple Inc. has benefited from the differentiation strategy since the company hires talented and highly qualified professionals. The firm emphasizes product innovation, research and development, and creativity to keep improving its existing products and launch new ones (West & Mace, 2007). For example, the latest version of the iPhone that is selling in the market currently is the iPhone 12 Pro.
