The topic I found most valuable and interesting is globalization. Today, the world appears to be highly converged as its political, economic, technological, cultural, and social aspects are continually intertwined through business. As a force that is transforming the world, globalization appears unstoppable right now. Countries that were once motivated by isolationist policies are now opening their doors to outside investment. China, for example, has seen tremendous growth since it decided to welcome outside investment three to four decades ago. With China’s rise, the world has seen a shift in economic power as it has grown to rival the likes of Japan and the United States. Currently, China is only second to the U.S. as the largest economy in the world. However, the above may not remain this way for long as China continues to rise through globalization. With multinationals looking to enhance their hold over the global markets, one cannot be faulted to say that much should be expected going forward.
One idea that makes globalization interesting and valuable is the creation of a flat world. The world is not flat but globalization has made it flat by enabling the sharing of ideas and knowledge that overcomes the challenge of distance, time, geography, and language. Today, an idea that is conceived in the United States will make its way to India or South Africa where it will have a greater impact than even in the paren...
