Remember form is purely the elements and principles of design.• on a separate page, in a paragraph describe the subject matter of the chosen image. Remember subject matter is just what is in the work of art without bringing any external info into the conversations. So a painting of a bowl of fruit would be something like "three bananas and an apple in a bowl." • on a separate page, in a few paragraphs, describe the content of the chosen image. Remember content is what the painting is about. Here is where you get to bring in your feelings and research on meaning. • on a separate page, in a few paragraphs, describe the iconography of the chosen image. Remember iconography is the signs and symbolism in a painting. So an apple might symbolize sin. A dog might mean fidelity. • on a separate page, in a few paragraphs, describe the context of the chosen image. Remember context is when you think about the circumstances around a work of art. For example, a painting of a rat in European art might mean something different than it does in Indian art. Or something made in the 1300's should be considered through the eyes of someone in that time period to get an accurate read on meaning. There's a lot more info on this in your book. Use your index for more specific pages. Remember these pages (or page) you make will be included in your final art "book" so make them look good. You will want unity in your book so think about that when you do the layout. Include pictures and define each term as well.
