Filtroil began its globalization efforts after Leahman joined the company. Leahman had a conversation with Thomas from Triple R Oil Cleaner, and Thomas informed him that it would be possible for him to expand the operations of Filtroil to Asia. Leahman went to China to meet Thomas and Qian who would become distributors of the company. According to their agreement, Qian and Thomas would own 50% of the factory in China, and Filtroil in the US would own the other 50%. Dong Bo who was their manufacturer began making sub-standard items, and this made them fire him and brought on board Liu as their new manufacturer.
