Matthew's traumatic brain injury at birth set the onset of the difficulties. People with CP may have poor motor abilities, muscle stiffness, and other comorbidities (Costa et al., 2023). According to the literature, people with CP are more susceptible to respiratory problems due to altered chest mechanics, weak respiratory muscles, and an impeded cough. Some of such interventions include surgery, medication, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy (Hou et al., 2023). Physiotherapy Interventions In this analysis, emphasis will be put on postural management and seating as the first physiotherapy intervention as well as hydrotherapy as the second intervention for Matthew. Postural Management and Seating Postural management and seating are critical components of the care plan for individuals with Cerebral Palsy (CP). Matthew's difficulty fitting into his chair raises concerns about posture. Hence, an in-depth review of Matthew's seating and positioning, perhaps involving an occupational therapist, is essential. Notably, Matthew's scoliosis and dystonia necessitate careful positioning to prevent contractures and optimize function. His current comfy chairs pose challenges due to inadequate support, potentially contributing to feeding difficulties and aspiration risk.
