Core Business Process
The core business process in Amazon is business process management (BPM. It is a type of management business process. Key resources of the process include technology, methodology and management approach.
BMP is well aligned with Amazon’s business strategy or objectives. Using big data and cloud at its disposal, Amazon has revamped processes to establish its own business model (Shingray, 2018). The company has shaped its business processes, going so far as to automate specific parts of it. Based on Amazon’s mission, the company believes that a customer-focused approach is one of the three tenets that make the firm strong. Instead of focusing on their competitors, Amazon uses BPM to focus on their customers and their needs (Shingray, 2018).
Amazon’s customers are online users around the world. It mainly targets a demographic that does not need to struggle with a mortgage of household bills, and fall under the most digitally savvy consumers (Shingray, 2018).
The BMP process allows customers to purchase products from home due to Amazon’s use of automation from marketing. When a customer buys a product on Amazon, the automation suggests items according to the product purchased (Thierry & Lescop, 2019). Through market automation, Amazon has personalized the process for individual customers.
The Process
The outcomes of the process are that it improves the company’s business model, reduces error rate, gives better control of workflows, provides insights for making better business decisions, and strengthens communication with key stakeholders and customers.
