Ford Motor Company is a multinational company in America. The main headquarters of Ford Motor are in Dearborn, Michigan. The company was started by Henry Ford. The organization sells commercial motor vehicles and automobiles under the trademark of Ford. Most of the Luxury cars are under the Lincoln brand. The mission statement of Ford is very simple. Ford aims at seeing people work together (Daniel, &Thomas Lawton, 2018). The company aims at making the lives of people better through mobility and automotive leadership. The vision of Ford ensures that the company has achieved its best performance considering some factors like competition in the market.
Ford Motor Company faces stiff competition from UberPOOL and Ola. These are examples of new market segments that aims to develop city buses and the ride systems that are similar to that of Uber. However, the Smart Mobility of Ford has succeeded in markets like India and this technology can be transferred to other countries.
PESTEL ANALYSIS
The Threat of potential new entrants is moderate. This is because the development of cellphone use in India and other countries has developed an opportunity for new entrants. The buyer bargaining power of Ford is strong. The industry gives its customers a lot of options to choose from. The threat of substitute products is resilient. An example of a substitute that has been available for the consumers is mass transit. This is because it has provided cheap options for ride-hailing systems. However, the bargaining power of suppliers is relatively weak. This because the company has a reliable supply chain through outsourcing and insourcing from production facilities and suppliers. Lastly, the rivalry among competitions is significantly strong. Some emerging markets like Ola, mass transit and Uber are a threat to Ford Motors (Skripak, 2016). The completion relies on the income of the consumers who are ready to spend in transit.
