Sport Management Situations and the Skills in Coping and Facing the Problems

Case Study Instructions:

The key is to identify the problems and central issues facing sports administrators. In others, the issues are clear and the thrust of the case is for the student to develop action plans and workable solutions. Or you may develop two (or more) sides of an issue(s) that would require a negotiation/debate or a series of negotiations/debates by the involved parties. In this case, the solution would include the issue(s) with background information for each side without a designated “winner/loser.”
In order to obtain the most benefit from a case, the reader must develop an ability to "understand the situation." This means being able to put yourself in the shoes of the general manager or athletic director and feel as well as see the problems facing the organization; take into account the varying personalities involved; sift fact from opinion; and develop and support workable and practical solutions which can be implemented within the resources of the organization and, given all of the variables in the firm and its environment, have a good chance of success.
The case study method is an attempt to present to the reader actual sport management situations and develop a skill in facing and coping with the types of problems with which sport managers are confronted in practice.

He was also allegedly paid by the other team to make his failed move. Due to this, he was placed on trial by the pu...
