When the heart gets overworked through increased physical activity, there is a tendency for the body to go on overdrive. This is particularly the case with Dr Ally, who notes that he experiences shortness of breath and dyspnea each time he takes on a physically intense exercise such as going up the stairs. It is quite clear that Dr Ally is suffering from high blood pressure. This is further proven by the fact that he experiences dizziness and distorted vision, as well as some episodes of nose bleeding (Webber, 2022). Such often occurs when the body is now on overdrive.
The pathophysiological explanation of his condition is that the heart's walls have swelled due to the increased work on it, as a result of Ally stopping to take the antihypertension drugs. Shortness of breath is due to an insufficient supply of blood and oxygen to the lungs.
