Identifying a perfect intervention to treat a disease is the next best step to ensure a patient experiences better healthcare outcomes after diagnosis. Choosing an appropriate care plan for clients is crucial to managing risks and controlling unwanted costs. Different people may demand a varying care approach for a similar health condition. Providers have a role in how unique varying facets of a patient’s life may harmonize. They should be able to determine that the administered interventions do not adjust these facets in a manner that is harmful to an individual (Community Health Network, 2019). Following these facts, this current study perceives expressive arts therapy as the most relevant for the many children in the local region suffering from various psychological diseases.
Children with psychological disorders reveal symptoms that prove a lack of wellness in how they behave, regulate their feelings, and think. These individuals reveal changes or patterns of behaving, feeling, or thinking that disrupt an individual’s ability to function normally. In children, these forms of diseases are common. They are associated with disruptions or delays in developing age-appropriate regulation of emotions, social skills, behaviors, or thinking (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2022). The local region has a substantial number of children who show these forms of disorders. Common psychological diseases in children include schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, eating disorders, autism spectrum disorder, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and anxiety disorders (Mayo Clinic Staff, 2022). It is crucial to come up with unique interventions to help them lead quality lives like their peers.
Possible local organizations to benefit from the art include area hospitals, clinics, schools, and mental health organizations. Hospitals and clinics receive these kids from parents who lack knowledge of the symptoms of mental health disorders. Parents present their kids to these facilities when they realize something abnormal about their children. On the other hand, in schools, teachers can easily identify a child whose behavior is unhealthy. Therefore, schools will be affected because experts may recommend teachers embrace expressive therapy when interacting with children whose special needs may call for unique treatment during learning. Finally, mental health facilities may embrace art to treat children with psychological disorders.
Mental disorders affect the everyday function of children suffering from diseases. Applying expressive therapy will relieve some of the difficulties that this population experiences. Bosgraaf et al. (2020) argue that this approach is perfect for the young population because it is non-threatening and accessible. Patients who undergo this form of treatment acquire high levels of self-esteem and the ability to regulate their emotions.
