Today, Daichi visits the Spears family, which has three children: a newborn, a toddler, and an adolescent. The Spears live in low-income housing in an urban area. Because of illiteracy issues and restricted finances, Mr. and Mrs. Spears find it difficult to provide health care for their children.

Daichi is a community health nurse who works with children who have suffered a chronic medical condition and other health-related risks. Daichi will help the Spears family by educating them on the risk facing their three children.
The Spears family newborn weighs 4 pounds and 3 ounces at birth. This is a low birth weight because the baby weighs less than 5 pounds and 8 ounces, and it may cause some health complications for the baby. Daichi teaches the spear family on the health risks of children born with a low weight.
