It is appropriate for a healthcare practitioner to address each possible challenge affecting the patient before executing a differential diagnosis. The accuracy of that process leads to an accurate treatment regimen. The value of exclusive patient assessment, hence, cannot be underrated in healthcare. In this assessment, the professional attempts to understand the patient’s condition from her historical factors. The other aspects of assessment that could be vital to this assessment include socio-economic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural issues.
The first aspect of sensitivity when assessing a 16-year old should be communication. Healthcare professionals understand that the quality of assessment that they execute depends highly on how they motivate the patient to communicate. A diagnosing practitioner must have efficient communication skills to overcome the milestone (Mahmoud, 2019). One of the aspects that must be emphasized include comfort where the patient must be put in a position where she can communicate without any worries. Comfort extends from the place of communication to the people indulged in the interviews and the channels of communication employed. The nurse should also consider building a rapport with the patient. That makes it easier for them to share on matters concerning the illness. The practitioner should also be sensitive to what interests the patient (Hardy, 2016). Emphasis on sensitive aspects of interaction should deliver the required results.
There are specific patient-related factors that should be analyzed based on the condition being assessed. First is the socio-economic aspects. A practitioner needs to understand specific aspects of socio-economic ability such as her relationship with her family and the ability of the family to afford the services (Mahmoud, 2019).
