She is overwhelmed with the stack of medical bills, as Mr. P always took care of the financial issues. Mr. P is despondent and asks why God has not taken him. The heart’s purpose is to nourish the body by pumping blood to all the parts of the body. Heart failure does not literary mean a complete non-functioning of the heart. Heart failure is however a condition where the heart is not able to pump sufficient blood to meet the needs of the various parts of the body. Usually as a result of weak heart muscles or when a defect prevents good blood circulation in the body. As a result, the kidneys will receive less blood to filter fluid out fluids from the blood to the urine. These extra fluids will then form in the liver, lungs, around the eyes and in other cases in the legs. The situation is called congestion and thus the doctors refer to it as Congestive Heart Failure. In the case of Mr. P, a 76year old man has a history of cardiomyopathy and CHF symptoms. This essay discusses the approach to care, treatment plan and family education to his approach of care. ().
In this scenario, the situation has caused many problems to Mr. P including psychological and social problems. The man has difficulty in breathing, moist crackles and edema. In addition, he is also depressed and not complaisant with treatment when offered and also financial problems. Management of his condition will need a comprehensive approach to address the numerous needs that he and his family need. The approach will therefore include a plan to transfer Mr. P to a clinical facility where his condition will be well taken care of; education about the patients treatment plan and emotional support. Dietary counseling, as he also has problems with maintaining diet restriction, which will probably be accompanied with a lifestyle change not to mention his acute financial problems. Nevertheless, Mr. P will also need to undergo rehabilitation program for his psychological wellness. (Andrietta et al 2011).
