The management-research question hierarchy begins by identifying the problem or issues that the management is trying to solve. In this case, the management needs to find ways of supporting the renovated facility because AT&T withdrew its support and the current members are unable to sustain its operations due to their growing age. The only possible and feasible alternative they can have is to have as many new members as possible, who would, in turn, support the club. Therefore, the management's dilemma is on how to attract more members to support the facility (Schindler, 2001).
Management dilemma: The need to increase core membership of NCR Country Club
Although increasing the current golf membership to 680 and having as many social memberships as possible are the immediate goals for the club, the management question should include a query on how the dilemma or problem can be solved. In this case, attaining 680 golf membership and many social memberships are the aims of the management question while the management question is what can be done to increase membership in NCR Country Club.

2 Why is NCR Country Club not able to attract new members?
On the other hand, the research questions should be formulated in a way that they seek to find out possible courses of actions available for the management to solve their problem questions. The research questions form the basis for effective and thus needs careful considerations. It is important to critically evaluate the problem at hand and identify key focus areas while developing the research questions (Cooper, Schindler, & Sun, 2006). Although the key area of focus in the case of NCR Country Club on how to increase its members, there are other several options to consider that might also facilitate solutions to the management dilemma.
