Summary of Case
When Apple introduced the Apple Watch in 2015, it was unclear whether the company would revolutionize the watch industry as it did with MP3 players, cell phones, and tablet computers. With recent Apple Watch unit sales second only to legendary watchmaker Rolex, that question has been answered. Now fashion leader Louis Vuitton is asking a new question: Will consumers pay $2,900 for a smartwatch? In answering that question, shoppers will have to answer another: is this technology, or is it fashion?
Questions

The Louis Vuitton Case Study
1 First, identify the level in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs into which the Tambour Horizon best fits. Next, make a case for how it could fit into each of the other categories.
The Tambour Horizon watches belong to the esteem level in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. The watch is considered a luxury brand, which means many people cannot afford it. The esteem needs of Maslow’s hierarchy include status, prestige, and accomplishment (Hopper, 2020). People that yearn to satisfy these needs can afford them and have already satisfied the other needs of the hierarchy. Given the cost of the Tambour Horizon, it can only be afforded by people who can meet the other needs without falling into a financial crisis. It is also affordable to the people who prefer prestige and status than the fulfillment of other needs.
The watch can fit in psychological needs because it helps the owner is keeping healthy. Good health would facilitate an individual to satisfy essential needs for living, such as food, shelter, and clothing. It also satisfies security needs due to its various features. For instance, one can lock their smartphone using the watch in the event of danger. The features also enable people to experience emotional intimacy with friends and family through communication, thus satisfying social belonging. The Tambour Horizon will fulfill the need for self-actualization if it satisfies all the needs important to the buyer. Self-actualization is achieved when an individual can satisfy all the needs that they consider important to them. Therefore, the satisfaction of needs in this category varies from one person to another. Whenever an individual perceives a less important, needs might be very important to another person.
