An employee's performance rating indicates their productivity in the company. If an employee has a bad or poor rating, it means that they are not doing well in their job, and they are likely to be let go. It also means that they might be given a lower pay raise and with minimal chances of a promotion. This is the first point to consider when an employee wants to improve their performance. The structure of each performance rating should be well thought out. The rating that is given should reflect the work experience of the employee. Therefore, I think Ben should be given the right rating based on his previous performance.
Ben has been reluctant about completing company projects, which raises questions as to whether his friend should give him the rating he deserves or the rating he wants. His performance is affected by his attitude towards the project, which will affect the other employee's performance. However, I believe that Ben has all the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in his work. Ben's attitude toward the project is not good because he is unwilling to cooperate with Nish towards its completion (Mayo et al., 2020). The impact of such an employee on others is that he might contribute to them adapting to the culture of being less productive. Therefore, if Nish gives him a good rating, she would be going against the organizational values. The productivity of one employee can negatively affect the entire company's success.
