McDonald's Corporation is an American fast-food corporation headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. The company launched as a hamburger stand in 1940 but later transformed into a franchise, and its Golden Arches Logo was introduced in 1953. Today, McDonald's remains the largest chain restaurant by revenue, with an estimated 69 million customers daily and over 37,800 outlets worldwide (Mozammel, 2019). The company is best known for its hamburgers, french-fries, and cheeseburgers, though it has other offerings. In recent years, McDonald's has added healthy foods, including salads, fruit, fish, and smoothies, to its menu.
McDonald's main strategy is business level that involves cost leadership. The company strives to minimize its costs and provide offerings at the lowest prices. Generally known as a low-cost provider, McDonald's offerings are significantly cheaper than most of its competitors (Goraya & Zaaroura, 2016).
