The case study is about a company known as Dyson. The success story dates back to the establishment of vacuum cleaner company By James Dyson. The founder made more than 5,000 prototypes before he managed to make his first product that was well accepted in the market. He opened the Dyson Company, which has become one of the leading providers of the cleaning services in the world. Dyson is much more than just producing vacuum cleaners, but the company seeks to create innovative technologies that lure customers all over the world.
Mission Statement
Any company should come up with an effective mission statement that helps the outsiders know the kind of activities it undertakes, who are its customers and what they value as well as its goals and purpose. It is crucial to frame market-oriented mission statements in a way that suggests that the company is ready to meet the basic needs of its customers, hoping to withstand the test of time, as opposed to identifying specific technologies and products that may one day become outdated. For the Dyson Company, this group proposes a mission statement that indicates that “Dyson provides the customer with a unique approach to achieve common, daily tasks in a way that ensures both the personal and global environments are conducive.” While the company was established as a vacuum cleaners seller, it has expanded to provide other products such as LED lighting, air treatments, and hand dryers. All of these products share one thing in common; they are designed to improve the user’s physical space, including while cleaning, illuminating and cooling/warming. In the meantime, the company is more concerned with the preservation of the global environment and strives to mitigate the emission of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide.
Objectives
The company’s goals and objectives, presented in the above mission statement, can be simplified further to the creation of innovative, high quality, and sustainable cleaning products. Dyson focuses on creating socially and environmentally responsible products that can promote both personal values at the same time promoting the conservation of the environment. The company has created some of the best products as far as effectiveness, and environmental conservation is concerned. Such products include hand dryers that use less energy, LED lighting that never dims, and vacuum cleaners that never lose suction. The designers and innovators in the company work tirelessly to make sure that the current designs are upgraded to more efficient and responsible products.
Because Dyson just like any other business is more concerned with profits and growth, its overall objective should be framed as follows; to establish profitable relationships with customers and other businesses with the common values as far as conservation of the environment and to solve waste problems are concerned.
The company’s second objective is to expand into new businesses as it has done before by venturing into business lines such as hand dryers, washing machines, and bathroom faucets. ...
