Book Review
The title The Military Gates to Us Citizenship: Latina/O "Aliens and Non-Citizen Nationals" And Military Work written in 2015 by Luis Plascencia fully conveys the manuscript's content. The author sets a goal of helping the reader understand the origin of the modern United States federal lawmaking from the 15th century that allowed military individuals to be given citizenship regardless of their entry into the country. The article's author is an anthropologist who had significant interests in issues connected to the US-Mexico borders. The author exceptionally sets forth the article's main components in the abstract section making the reader understand the paper's objectives. First, he presents the statute within the archaic and prevalent forms of amnesty arrayed in the United States (Plascencia, 2015). Second, he sightsees the political procedure of inclusion through exclusion. Although the author does not indicate the methodology used to collect the data in his article, he excellently gives enough supporting materials to his empirical discussions on how state policies can be used on inclusion and exclusion and the existence of Latinos in the military.

Also, the claim matches with a recent study by Clinton Rodriguez (2019), who states that non-citizen militants acquire citizenship through naturalization up to date. In his view, he says that although the statute is interpreted as a significant provision in the United States law. Since it provides non-citizens, especially those who entered the country informally, the right to become citizens, it acts as a tremendous co...
