“ Your Neighbors Walk Alone (YNWA)”: Urban Regeneration and the Predicament of Being Local Fans in the Commercialized English Football League
Part 1:
For our article report, I have decided to look at the article “ Your Neighbors Walk Alone (YNWA)”: Urban Regeneration and the Predicament of Being Local Fans in the Commercialized English Football League. This article was written by Linggar Rama Dian Putra. Linggar and Purtaare are anthropologists at the department of Anthropology, Faculty of Social and Political Science. Their focuses are on social issues, urban politics, consumption and economy and youth culture. Sage Publishing published this article and it was part of their Journal of Sport and Social Issues. The main goal for “Journal of Sport and Social Issues” is to help the scholars of sport and culture get the latest research discussions and analysis on contemporary sport issues by using an international and interdisciplinary perspective. The author for this article looked at the changing nature of English Football and the shifting relationship between a club and its supporters in the latest era of football (Putra, 2019). They used Liverpool FC as an example. In my opinion, we can consider this journal and its authors reliable because they use many perspectives such as; sociology, history, economics, anthropology and etc. to talk about the impact of sport on social issues. They use different viewpoints and address critical matters in the sports world.
