Motivation
Introduction
204533528829000Motivation is one of the most significant factors that affect the students’ way of learning. Various factors influence an individual’s motivation, and these act as stimuli or driving forces to encourage the students to set and accomplish their goals and dreams in life. It affects their sense of well-being by allowing them to gain sufficient confidence. Without an adequate push, the students may become more deviant and less compliant with school-related activities, resulting in poor academic performance (Williams & Williams, 2011). Therefore, it is essential to understand the students' motivation to know the appropriate strategies to address low motivational levels as teachers.

The students’ motivation enhances their performance because this improves their sense of self, as explained by the multiple intelligences theory. It promotes the maximization of the use of the eight identified potentials of an individual using approaches that are non-latent and non-traditional. It improves individuals' sense of self by improving their creativity and dignity, making learning a pleasurable experience. Its positive impact may be attributed to the opportunities given to the students to demonstrate their total capacity by controlling how the individual manifests their dominant intelligence (Ahmad et al., 2014).
Intrinsic and Extrinsic Motivation
Intrinsic motivation refers to the actions driven by self-satisfaction, such that the individual is driven by a sense of accomplishment when faced with challenging situations (Mulvahill, 2018). An example of this is when a student reads a romantic novel to satisfy his desires and curiosities about love or practicing to dance because he wants to audition in the upcoming interschool cheerleader competition.

Here, the individual wants to get something in return for the illustrated motivation (Mulvahill, 2018). An example of this is when the teacher tells those students that whoever will pass the papers within the day will get an additional five points or when those who will not pass the final project will fail the subject.
Factors That Affect Motivation
