Creating Middle East Region Free of Weapons of Mass Destruction
Just at a slight simple assumption of any case of production of Weapons of Mass Destructions, fear will befall nations. Leaders globally have combined efforts to fight this from happening. They have formed and become part of treaties like the Nonproliferation Treaty of nuclear weapons. Israel has established an enormous nuclear arsenal (Haber, 2016). Israel has also refused to be a party in the formed treaties. The paper examines an article publication inscribed by Haber that indicates how countries are promoting the construction of a Middle East region free of Armaments and how to incorporate strategies to ensure the goal is achieved effectively.
The purpose of the article
The given article by O. H. Haber talks of the practical steps that have been undertaken in making the Middle East a region with high restrictions in accessing and using weapons of mass destruction. Israel has a nuclear-powered raid capacity covering the whole Middle East, inclusive of Africa, Asia, Europe, and nearly all portions of North America, South America, and Oceania.
Haber also indicates that no country in the middle east owns nuclear-powered weapons currently. All the Arab states are part of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) except Israel. During the 17th UN congress in 1963, Egypt recommended nine circumstances for creating a nuclear-powered armaments Free Region in the Middle East. In 1995, the UN formed steps that facilitated the formation of the Middle East region that does not have armaments of mass demolition, including nuclear-powered, chemical, and biotic.
