The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) discusses two primary aspects of change. They include motivating individuals to engage in the desired behavior and the extent to which engaging in the intended behavior poses challenges (Hagger et al., 2020). Icek Ajzen defines the behavior of interest by highlighting four crucial elements, including the target, action, context, and time frame. These elements are defined at different levels of generality and specificity (Ajzen, 2020). In addition, the principle of compatibility posits that once the behavior is identified, all four constructs of the theory ought to correspond to it. However, self-efficacy defines potential obstacles that are likely to hinder people from engaging in a specific behavior and how to overcome them.
