Interpreting an Article
Functional communication training (FCT) is a therapy that seeks to behavior that is considered inappropriate to what is considered appropriate and effective, especially in communication. This is a procedure that is efficient in reducing unwanted behavior among individuals with intellectual disabilities. However, it does have major drawbacks regarding the frequent emission of FCT, which influences their perception of the natural environment. For instance, a person could opt to mand a break from studies to be undesirable, which prevents the completion of necessary tasks due to negative reinforcements from FCT. (2005) 's work, which demonstrates how the maintenance of a choice-making component in FCT patients due to negative reinforcements. Consequently, it tries to find the extent to concurrent schedules of reinforcement alleviates the unsatisfactory limitations of FCT.
