Artists use their skills to represent important information to society through art, such as paintings. The message represented by a particular work of art varies for various reasons. For instance, the time of creation and events during that time would influence the painting's meaning. The message conveyed in artworks might also vary depending on the personality and experience of an artist and how it affects human nature. This paper will compare "Les Chadoufs painting and the "Tutankhamun's mask" in the context of their characteristics, themes, and historical meanings.
Mahmoud Said created the Les Chadoufs painting. The painting features men who seem to be fetching water from a borehole. These men are looking into a distance as if they are expecting someone or something. The coloring of this painting is rather dull, making it an overly realistic piece. The light source is hidden, and what is captured instead are warm and cold lights. This would have been inspired by Impressionists, who used light to achieve a dynamic effect in the paintings they created. Tutankhamun's mask proves that ancient Egyptian art had advanced and developed a lot even after the 3 thousand years it took to make the mask (Seggerman, 2021). The mask consists of two pieces of the mask and is made up of a brown piece. The two pieces of the mask come together at the back of the head just above his neck. A kind of neck ring covers the neck. Tutankhamun's mask depicts the lifestyle of ancient Egyptians. The detail and accuracy in this mask are amazing that even today, it still looks similar to its original form. This can only be achieved using old techniques, skills, and methods. The facial features of Tutankhamun's mask resemble that of ancient Egyptians. Hence is a representation of their style and culture.
The Les Chadoufs painting represents an aspect of life that is distant so that it would not be affected ...
