He suggests that internships would help the higher education institutions to plug in their students to their relevant industries with higher success rate. The authors point out several reasons for introducing mandatory internships and among them is that students who had internships were twice more likely to get a job after graduation. Additionally, the higher education institutions also stand to benefit because more of its alumni get jobs related to their area of study, they are more likely to donate to their alma mater. Busteed and Auter are editors with Gallup which is a leadership consulting company. They have bolstered their arguments using statistics and graphs and cited several studies to show why internships are important. I find this source important to my topic in that it is authoritative because it uses primary sources and statistics to support arguments.
