Mark 15:34 is missed in Luke's text. It proves that Luke is concerned with Christ's evident sadness in Mark's version and changes it with a much more optimistic wording. It appears most likely that his diverse audience might be grappled with this concept and that in the phrase "My God, My God," mingled with Christ's evident agony, they may have thought that Jesus was not entirely equal to God as he had proclaimed. He avoids misinterpretations of Jesus' divine nature by deleting this line.
