Act I Scene I: A desert place
Winter and snow. 3 farmers talking.
1st farmer: This is the 1st time I encountered winter in the field, where is it going to send us? Will there be a lot of devastation or unhealthy livestock?
2nd farmer: When the skies are clear and the birds start to chirp again under the sun’s rays. It is when the crops are smiling and the livestock start to sing their song.
3rd farmer: That signifies the growth of new life and fresh harvest.
1st farmer: Exactly when will that day come? Will the days that turned into melancholy and solitude end?
2nd farmer: Upon seeing the crops rise once more and the livestock start to run about the field and be filled with enthusiasm.
3rd farmer: I am going to another place where the horizon is of refreshing, breezy air and the people are living on beautiful sceneries, having more food than they can really consume.
1st farmer: I shall join you, Lesarion and we will not feel the days of winter that has brought a lot of unpredictability and tiring days of finite resources.
