Extended Technical Definition and Description of Network Attached Storage

Term Paper Instructions:

Please read the attached documents for more info on how to write the paper. It should be 3 pages including the script for the PowerPoint narration. I have also attached the paper I started writing you can just redo that paper by following the requirement.
Overview
A valuable writing skill you will often draw upon in workplace writing is the ability to write technical definitions and descriptions for a variety of contexts.
For this project, you will have two deliverables: 1) a written piece of technical documentation (either a technical definition or a technical description) and 2) a narrated Slidecast. Please review the Project 2: Slideshares to Watch for comprehensive instructions on your deliverables
Your audience will have a low-level of technical expertise, and you will choose this audience. Your choice will be based on a need you identify that this audience has.
Next, you will decide if that need can best be met by composing either an extended technical definition of a term (option 1) or a technical description of a mechanism; process; animal, plant, insect; geographical feature/place (option 2).
Finally, you will create your documentation and slidecast.

Subject: Project 2: Plan for the description of the term “Network Attached Storage”
Below is the planning information for Project 2: Technical Definitions and Descriptions of NAS.
Extended Technical Definition and Description of NAS
Modern businesses are increasingly generating more data than ever, and their digital assets are more valuable than physical ones. The phenomenon requires such business organizations to have a solid storage strategy and backup alternatives. To this end, business organizations have several alternatives from which they can choose. These include offline media, cloud storage, disaster-protected storage, Network-Attached Storage (NAS), and Direct-Direct attached storage (DAS) (NA, 2016). These storage alternatives have benefits and shortcomings, factors that should be considered alongside pre-determined organization needs. The choice of NAS, for instance, as in the case of the current slidecast, is motivated by its accessibility: i.e., it can be accessed by multiple people, multiple computers, mobile, and devices. Where the setup allows, the storage can also be accessed remotely.
Thus, my slidecast will be an extended technical description of the term “Network Attached Storage.” The presentation aims to inform small business owners how NAS functions and the main factors they should consider when purchasing one. At the end of the slide, the audience should understand NAS’s functionality and benefits and the different modules available in the market. Lower cost options, ease of operation, data backup, and growth capability will form part of the current slidecast.
Audience:
The target audience for the current slidecast is small business owners looking to upgrade their storage devices or seeking to integrate NAS into their business for the first time. Presumably, members of the audience are not necessarily computing experts.
Need:
The audience needs to know or understand NAS and why they should choose or not choose it as part of their business operations.
Placement:
The slidecast will form part of a formal informational session in which audience members will have an emailed copy in advance.
Rhetorical Moves:
The idea is to provide exhaustive details on the Network Attached Storage and its functions. It will extend the definition and description by providing more details about NAS, hardware specifications, application usage, and available options.
Organizing Pattern (narration):
The slide cast follows the organizing pattern of general-to-specific and will consist of 5 slides exclusive of a title and a bibliography slide.
Slide 1 (Main Page)
Welcome to today’s presentation. I am your host {name}. This slidecast will provide you with an extended technical definition and description of Network-Attached Storage. The target audience for this information includes entrepreneurs, small business owners, managers, and employees whose organizations seek information on storage and backup alternatives and, more importantly, considering utilizing NAS. The audience will understand the reasons for choosing NAS, its functionality, and the basic requirements needed for the efficient utili...
