Speech Presentation Instructions:

Multimedia Final Project

The Assignment:

For this assignment, you will create a multimedia item, such as a YouTube video or podcast, in which you describe a contemporary ethical debate and outline at least two philosophical positions from what we have studies this semester on the topic. Your goal is to give your listener/viewer a thorough introduction to a contemporary ethical debate and its philosophical dimensions. Thus, you do not need to argue for a specific thesis. Instead the project should be more like a “very philosophical” news report. The topic of your multimedia project may not be the same as the topic of either of your papers. Your podcast/video should be at least 5 minutes long.

You can write the speech paper based on two of the topics: existentialism, stoicism, Kant’s Deontology, utilitarianism, Aristotelianism.

Existentialists believe that people who abort always try to define meaning in their lives while making rational decisions in an irrational world. They affirm that people are always free and have the freedom to take responsibility for their lives. People who believe that it was an excellent decision to legalize abortion perceive aspects such as action, freedom, and decision as fundamental principles in human life.
